I'm sure you're already acquainted:
There are two things to remark.
For one thing, we usually draw an arrow at the right end of the number line.
This represents that the number line never ends. We can always count further and further.
Unfortunately, for the lack of infinite paper and ink, we have to make do with a finite line.
For the other thing, notice how the numbers are evenly spaced.
This is because we think of numbers that are right next to each other as being equally far apart.
And it also makes the number line easy to understand ;)
It is pretty simple to make your own number line!
Take a paper and a pencil, and mark two points on the paper: one being zero and the other being one.
Measure the distance between them using a ruler, and use this distance as a gap to mark all the other points in a straight line.
How far apart the numbers are doesn't matter, just be consistent and use the same amount of spacing between them.
I believe that's it for the number line ^.^
